LESSON
1: CONVERTED
OBJECTIVE:
To explain what it means to be converted.
SCRIPTURE
VERSE: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 "THEREFORE IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW
CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY: BEHOLD, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW."
BIBLE STUDY: CONVERTED
This Bible Study is designed
to help you prepare from God's Word to teach the lesson. It is not intended to
be taught to the students. Pray Paul's prayer from Ephesians 1:17 & 18
before you begin to study this lesson. (Put your name instead of the pronoun
"you".) "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
him; the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is
the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in
the saints."
BE CONVERTED
Acts 3:19 "Repent ye
therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times
of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."
CHANGED FROM THE INSIDE OUT
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new."
COMPARED TO BEING BORN AGAIN
John 3:3-10 "Jesus
answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can
a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's
womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit
is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind
bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell
whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the
Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus
answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these
things?"
1 Peter 1:23-25
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and
all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower
thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is
the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."
