Fishing For and Feeding Great Volunteers.

The greatest need in most churches is for great workers. I believe God has a solution for that need.

Change your attitude.

Nobody wants to get on a sinking ship. Nobody wants to be part of something that “you say “ no body wants to  be a part of.  Listen to yourself.

How do you talk about Children’s Ministry? You may be your own worst enemy.

Realize that no storm that comes your way can stop God’s provision. If God has called you to a ministry, He will give you everything you need to get the job done. That includes workers!

Ask God to give you workers.

Pray in faith, expect God, regardless of your circumstances to send workers.

GET A RIGHT VISION OF WHO GOD IS. God wants to help you. You can not do the job without workers.

CHANGE YOUR VISION.

THIS IS NOT YOUR MINISTRY, IT IS GOD’S. He has workers for you!

PRAY

Matthew 9:38 (KJV)   Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.

Pray specific. What positions do you have open? What do you need the workers to do?

What recruiting method are you using?

Announcements in the church bulletin? Pleas from the pulpit? And how is that working for you?

How did Jesus recruit? He spoke to the person directly.

How do you find these people   Go where the people are. Often as children workers we isolate ourselves from everyone that is not in children’s ministry. All our friends work in children’s ministry. Everyone we hang out with is in children’s ministry. People we go out with, people we talk to in church are the ones we know through children ministry. But if you want to catch fish, you go where the fish are. If you want to find new recruits you must broaden your circle of relationships. Go to everything that is going on in your church.

Get to know more people. Ask them what their hobbies are. Talk to them about their interest. You might discover someone that likes to take pictures that would photograph your skating party for a bulletin board that scrap booking grandmother would love to put up for you. Or you might find the life of the party would love to do a costumed character next month for your class. You’ll never discover the wonderful talents in your church until you discover the wonderful people in your church.

You can order the complete teaching on CD or DVD.
